There is a music video scraper that you can use. There is a section for Music Video scrapers in the set content area when you add a source. I do not know which is the most affective scraper but I would try MTV first. You would name the file: Artistname - Songname.

I've set the scraper currently to MTV but nothing showed up under the "Music Video" section, but I don't have them named right. I'll try renaming them when I get home. Thanks!

I've been tinkering with the MTV Music plugin to try and play MTV Shows. Some of the shows only play audio (no video) while others play both.

Am I missing something? Any idea why this is happening? Sorry if this is a silly Q.

FYI- I'm using this page for links http://www.mtv.com/videos
I did see a post that MTV Music was behaving this way in December, but apparently an update was pushed to solve.

Can you give an example of a specific video that is doing this?

Doesn't work:

For comparison, this one does work:

Thanks!

It's a feature in Plex. Plex will let you watch Nirvana Unplugged but tries to save you from being subjected to Jersey Shore :) So you are trying to edit the MTV Music plugin to add MTV TV shows? That sounds like it should be a totally separate plugin. The MTV Music Videos plugin accesses mtvmusic.com not mtv.com.

Ok so I did some looking in to this. For music videos, you name your file ArtistName - SongTitle.mkv (whatever the file extension is). I tried this with some dummy files using the MTV scraper and it worked fine.

Can you give me a few examples of concert rip names so I can test those?

I'm in the US, and most of the videos available via the MTV Music Videos plugin won't play for me due to me not being in the right region.

Is this right?

I thought it might be some wacky login issue, so I even created an account on the MTV website and made sure to pinpoint my location, but they still won't play.

Any idea why?

Ok this may be a crazy idea but its worth a try. Do you remember about 2 or 3 years ago a bunch of New Kids on the Block fans contacted one another and decided to vote at the TRL website for an old New Kids video? There were so many votes that it made it to #1! What if we did the same thing to one of Michael's new videos? There is a spot on the website to write in a video and vote on it.
So what do you all think? Do you think it will work? Just an idea.
